just curious if some have had similar experience ... only have 3100 miles on the bike, but as of last night the clutch started to slip and theres pretty much no drive. its kinda unexpected at this

Clutch Slip
Dont know if this is any use, I was in my dealers today and the subject of clutch slip came up. Apparently if your left hand guard falls down and is rubbing the end of the clutch lever (i.e. no free play), the clutch will slip badly.
The simple solution being to rotate the hand guard away from the clutch lever (i.e. up) to give back the free play, pull in and release the clutch a few times and hopefully you should be back to normal.
As a rule if your dry clutch burns out you should smell it first.

The other option is a knackered oil seal leaking oil into there.

Or remove a bit of the fluid from the reservoir. As the clutch plate wears, the level goes UP.

I havent noticed a lack of drive. However if I downshift when decelerating I notice a shudder in the clutch when I release it.
Any clues?

My '05 did the same shutter thing till I whined enough and the dealer replaced the entire clutch assembly. No shutter for 500 mile and then it started doing it again. I looked at the old clutch and it really didn't show and wear or problem so I just forgot about it
