clutch issues

Hi all. newby here with a problem with my 06 f650gs twin spark. Noticed that clutch was slipping only on acceleration, especially if i was going to overtake slower vehicles. Rode home from work the other day, stopped to buy a lottery ticket in case my luck should change,lol. Got back on the bike, dropped it into first,,,,,,, nothing???? Went through all gears but no clutch engagement, in fact no nothing??? bike has only done 28000 and only had it 6 months. wondering if its just a replacement of clutch plates and springs or is it something more serious? Would appreciate any help and advice please.
