Just been into my local BMW Motorrad dealer (re an issue with my Nav IV) and he asked when the bike would next be in for a service. He said that BMW have issued a Technical Advisory to replace the clutch master cylinder on LCs. Obviously, something may have been lost in the translation (as my german is not that good), but that was my understanding

p.s. he said that the new GSA would be announced today in Milan, but not be available in Germany until Feb'14

Is this to do with the gear selection problems? Can you find out any more?

Thanks

Dave

Mines done 9 miles... Can't find neutral with the engine running, clutch drag..
Btw it's a 2014 model.

I have a 2007 K1200s with wet clutch, no problems finding neutral..
I have a 2003 r1200c with dry clutch, no problem with neutral either..

I understand neutral is a cost option for the 2014? But you should get a zero cost damper. Swings and roundabouts.

I'm surprised you haven't got used to the bike in 9 miles. Return the bike, quickly, it's obviously not fit for purpose.:rob:thumb

Don't worry it will come with practice like most things in life :D

If you cant get neutral there is a problem turn back and ride the 9 miles to the dealer and get it sorted. you obviously have other bikes and know what it should be like.

by now I assume you have already been back , so what was it?

Hi guys..
Not been back.. Yet..
Sometimes these things bed in, (I'm starting to doubt that as read a few other posts) but with the weather & work commitments I've managed to do 100 miles now, it's not perfect but I'm finding neutral easier now, it clicks & jumps a bit at the lights, but nearly liveable, but I can feel it's not 100%
I'm sure there will be a upgrade or recall when they find out what the problem is..

It would be nice if you could get a part number on the new clutch master cylinder.

Some bikes have an early version clutch master cylinder installed and there have been isolated incidents of thrust bearing failure on them. Its limited to a range of chassis numbers. So again contact your dealer. If its in the affected range it will be sorted -end of issue
