Coast Road -Tetouan - Al Hoceima - Taza

thinking of starting off via the coast road N16 and then south to Taza on the R505. Anybody done this recently and got any advice. Is there any of the Rif dope hassle on this route?

The new maps show this as being upgraded from a yellow to a red route....

I went through a couple of years back and the Moroccans were starting the construction of the 'Mediteranean Rocade'. I don't think it's finished yet.

Most of the dope hassle is on the N2.

If you have time and are interested there's a deep cave system near Taza, the Goufre Friouato, GPS N34 06.102 W4 04.252
