Good morning, all! (actually, it's early afternoon for most of you)
I was reading GS7A's thread about his coilpacks. I don't want to hijack his thread, so I'll ask my hopefully simple question here: Are the symptoms for a poor coilpack the same for a single spark machine as they are for a twin spark? I'm asking mostly out of curiosity, but also with a bit of specific interest; I've had a few instances on my machine ('01 1150GS) where, under easy to moderate acceleration, I'll get a single small "lurch" that feels like a solid miss in one of the cylinders. It literally feels like the motor shuts off for a split second and come right back like nothing happenned.
The problem hasn't been a bother and I haven't had any other poor-running; fuel economy is just fine, acceleration is smooth, running temps are fine, no discernible fluid consumptions (other than fuel, of course), just a bit of a feeling of slightly reduced power, but not sure if that's just my arse-dynomometer being a bit off.
