Hi Glenn.

Didn't see this till tonite. I have an avior x3. Used it one night in Belgium at easter. Packs small . Tent is small for 2 person tent unless you're real friendly with the other person.Wedge shaped tent, difficult to get dressed inside as only 1 metre at highest point, unless you're only 2 feet tall !

Dibbles

i use the coleman epsilon 2 which is the old version of the avior and as you say it is a bit limited although a great bit of kit, i use it just for myself, getting 2 folks in would be a squeeze with gear. a friend who uses a epsilon 3 when solo, uses a coleman phad 3 when his woman joins him on a trip. if i was buying again i'd buy a phad 3.

3 pole dome design, all poles cross over at center so no need for guys unless it's windy, zip off porch groundsheet. packs up quite small, fairly light, easily carried on a vespa all over europe like wot we do:thumb2

* Capacity: 3 persons
* Weight: 3.95kg (as supplied)
* Headroom: 105 cm
* Pack Size: 44 x 18 cm
* Configuration: 1 room and porch area
* Flysheet material: Polyester ripstop, 4000 mm PU coated, taped seams, UV PRO
* Inner tent material: Breathable polyester and no-see-um mesh
* Groundsheet material: Nylon, 5000mm PU coated, taped seams

I'm almost the same I have used a Coleman Epsilon 3 solo for week long Scout camps for the last couple of years but found it a bit tight for room so picked up a Phact 3 the other week for this years camps. 2 "porches" and a bit more headroom.

Hi Glenn.

The Coleman Avior x3 is marketed as a 3 person tent.

I have the Coleman Avior x2 (2 person tent) and pleased with the weight and pack size (fits easily in nearside Vario Pannier with plenty room for other stuff). Find it okay size for Skye and myself but neither of us are Tosser sized :rolleyes: . We tend to use it more when on the move and traveling light. If we are spending a couple of days in the one site then I tend to use my far roomier Vango 3 man tunnel tent, but it will not fit in the panniers.

i tend to use this scale when it comes to tent sizes:-

1 man = 1 man, no gear
2 man = 1 man + gear or 2 people, no gear
3 man = 2 people + gear (what's 3 people in a tent all about anyway:augie)
4 man = PARTY!
