Combat Boots

boots

Hi tec Magnums get my vote the most comfortable boots I've had in a long time (sympatec version) if you got humungus plates like me you can get size 14 from www.thebigmansshop.co.uk they are in cornwall but do good mail order service

As issue we originally got Matterhorns ,superb, if expensive £200 plus but in everyday use they lasted 3 to 4 years.
These were replace with Danner boots, again good quality but expensive £180, they do however, split along the leather where it joins the sole after 2 years hard use.
Then we got Altberg Field and Fell much cheaper @ £115 (to us) but they easily last two years of hard use.
Then a bright spark decided we would be issued with Tuff Pro Boots, the mark one version was lasting 3 or 4 months before the leather split badly (all over). The revised mark two's were no better, my last pair were unserviceable after 17 shifts, thats three weeks work.
We've now gone back to the Altbergs and they are as good as ever, some of us have wangled the Lowa combat boots, they are about £40 dearer but are superb quality. Only problem is that they are too warm in the summer.
I've seen the price Silvermans are putting out the pro boots for andhaving experienced them I wouldn't give them house room
