Having just bought a pair of 1150's (one GS and one GSA) for a last minute week in Europe with a mate, I need to service the GSA this week before leaving.

I plan to change the engine, gearbox and final drive oil as well as bleed the brakes.

As I just did the oils on my 1200, I'd decided on using these oils (which I still have some left of) and just needed someone wiser than me to say 'YES, these will be fine on the 1150' as well):-

Engine oil: Castrol Act>Evo GP 4T 20w-50

Geabox oil: Castrol SAF-XO 75w-90 Synthetic Final Drive Lubricant

Final drive oil: Castrol SAF-XJ 75w-140 fully synthetic final drive

Ta for any advice! Anything other than a 'NO DON'T DO IT', I'll take as a yes as I'm pretty sure the above should be fine.

(PS. apologies for yet another oil question)

(PPS. definitely like the 1150s more than the 1200 so consider me a convert!)

Cheers, Ross.

Not sure about your gearbox and final drive oils -isn't one of those specific to the 1200 fianl drive only.

EP90 GL5 is adequate for both gearbox and final drive on all 1100/1150 models.

Thanks mate, I'll pick up some EP 90 for the gearbox and FD.

Engine oil fine I guess?

EP90 GL5 got it. Will order some off Opieoils today along with some more of the Act>Evo engine oil.

If it's any use, Halfords sell 80w90 GL5 oil (labelled as 'differential' oil), own brand and Castrol.

:just to confirm will halfords ep 80w/90 gl-5 oil do both gearbox and final drive,

yes no thanks

two 1150,s and a 1200,will someone please inform this man there,s a credit crunch on.enjoy your trip and safe riding:thumb

I know, I know - it's been a hectic week! Plan to sell two of them after the holiday.

Then I can play with my 1952 Triumph Tiger 100 that I got off ebay ;)
