Commuter advice - will a G650GS or Sertao fit the bill?

Hi folks,

I'm seriously considering getting another bike for the commute, I've read a few threads & get the impression that a G650 is a decent little bike but would like a bit of clarification.

I'm a bit confused on tank sizes is the GS 14 litre & the Sertao 17 litre?
My trip to work is 53 miles each way so I really would like a bike that does at least 220 miles per tank so I can do two round trips per tank - is this realistic?
I'm guessing that a 650 should have no problem keeping up with motorway traffic, which is 34 miles of the route to work.

Both G650GS and Sertao are 14 litre tanks. The only way to get 220 miles between fills would be to retrofit a F650GS or Dakar 17 litre tank. There's a thread on here detailing it.

Motorway speeds are fine with the 16T front sprocket but if you're going to be doing a lot of miles then it may be worth fitting a 17T front sprocket to bring the revs down a bit.
