Compilation Albums in Itunes

I fecking hate itunes but I have an iphone and I don't want to jailbreak it so I am stuck with the piece of crap

I have on my portable hardrive some compilation albums e.g. 100 greatest Rap tunes but when I copy it across to itunes it splits it into 100 different albums from the individual artists

Dear Jim can you fix it for me to have all those songs on the same fecking album

I think you either need to switch off the auto-search for the album details (then you have to manually input the details) or change it all once it's been uploaded

highlight all the tracks on the 100 Greatest album in itunes.

right click on them>choose Info.

in the Album Artist space, put Various.

you might find that checking the Part of a Compilation checkbox is needed instead of/ as well as doing that.

no need for Various variations. it should group them by the album name.

just wanted to make clear: you don't need to do all the tracks separately.

highlight all the album tracks together, and fill in the Info panel ONCE

I'd a compilation album from years back that i loved. The album is not on iTunes, so I downloaded the individual tracks. Is it possible to put the 10 songs in a new album and re name that album?

don't see why not.

just get all the ID3 tags sorted as described above. sometimes you'll end up with 1 album split into many parts. this is usually a result differences in the tags, although i have had particularly frustrating cases where i can find no cause.
