As standard the 2010 R1200GS comes with :-

Info flat screen (digital clock, gear indicator, fuel gauge, coolant temperature and cruising range indicator, total 2 trip odometers and service indicator)

So what do you get extra with the £145 computer option :nenau

Off the top of my head...

Oil level status..

Ambient air temperature..

Fuel range indicator..

Average speed..

Average mpg..

Tyre pressure sensor read-out (if fitted)..

Clock......

Think that's it? :nenau

*Thinks* What does it scroll through when I repeatedly press the Info button - Time, Ambient Temperature, Average Fuel Consumption, Average Speed, Range, Oil Level Check (when stationary), Tyre Pressures. It also tells you the month and year that your next service is due, on switching on the ignition, in the same location as the total mileage.

That's on my '09 bike, I don't know if they've added more functions on the '10 ones.

No problem :thumb2

I think it's a worthwhile option to have, I wasn't sure how much it cost, but for £145 I'd definately go for it.

I don't do anything. It's just there when I switch on the ignition. It only started doing it a few weeks ago so I guess it displays when you get close to the due date of the annual service.

yep it tells you when you get to within a month of the annual service. It also tells you when you get close to 6000 miles from the last service although I cant remember what mileage this triggers on. To be honest I thought this was part of the standard dash though and not just the optional computer. Not sure the computer is worth having either.
Oil level, you have a big window to look at that.
Average speed, well if you find that useful I guess I dont think it is very accurate though.
Range left in tank is completely inaccurate usually trying to convince me I can get something like 500 miles to a tank?.
Average MPG is kinda accurate so long as you let it settle.
Ambient temp is something to look at for interest and possibly useful in the winter as it will warn if ice is likely but given your on a bike I think you will know if its cold or not. None of these are to die for items but its something to talk about I guess.

Just had my 12 serviced last Tuesday, they told me they had reset the service
count down. I asked if it was set to 12000 miles or real time miles...it's real time or 12 months if you don't do the miles....:augie
