My computer has developed a fault recently. When surfing various sites, both here and in the USA, it displays odd characters. Here are 3 examples:
1. From ADVRider - this Chinese (or Japanese??) character occasionally rears its head:
if you want a clasic San Jos頦rame, you need DOWNTOWN DATSUN –
2. From HC Travel, a UK site, the £ signs have been replaced by question marks. On the same page, $ signs appear normally:
Prices include UK wharfage, B/L and handling charges, and crating. Excluded is marine insurance (typically ?75-?125 each way, depending on value of
3. From the same page, an apostrophe has been replaced by a question mark. This has become quite common, with quotes appearing like ?this? rather than like 'this':
Customs offices are open for customs clearance at each port. Any overtime or after hour?s fees. Presenting the ORIGINAL REGISTRATION
I've checked my 'International' settings in Control Panel and they're set correctly for English (UK) - anybody got any ideas??
Mike
