Hi - is it ok to connect a 12V tyre inflator to the power socket on a GS1250 - just checking it doesn't blow the electrics! Thanks

I think you’ll find that is connected to the Canbus so will not be able to power the tyre inflator.

Best option would be to add an additional power outlet connected directly to the battery with an inline fuse.

If you mean the socket next to the clocks then the answer is no

It’s controlled by the canbus and limited to 5amps I think, it will cut out as soon as your pump starts

Connect a fly lead to your battery and use that for your pump and trickle charger

Edit: as above, beat me to it

Yes Wunderlich say not to do this, better SAE connector to battery or crocodile clips.

With this small, high-performance electric compressor, not just tyres can be filled up to the correct pressure in the blink of an eye, anything else that needs inflating can be quickly filled with air too.

The compact and lightweigt Airman (only 0.6 kg/1.3 lb.) has a built-in pressure gauge.

It connects to the onboard 12 V BMW type socket on your motorcycle, or to any regular cigar type socket. Suitable for use with a car, as it has a 3 m long power cord ( ~11 ft).

The Airman can pump up to a maximum pressure of 6 bar (~145 PSI). It is very robust and does not take up a lot of space (12.0 x 6.0 x 14.2 cm / 2-3/8” x 4-3/4” x 5-5/8”).

Supplied with operating instructions.

Note: For current BMW models with CAN-Bus, the Airman can not be connected to the standard vehicle power outlet. Here is an external power outlet necessary!

Always a good idea to run the engine when using a pump off the battery.

I agree, I have an optimate lead permanently attatched to the battery and an optimate accessory lead with a car type cigar holder socket on one end which the airman pump connects to. This set up is useful for charging the battery also

I use one of these from Halfords.

As has been said, just run a pigtail set up direct to the battery, similar to Reggie353 above, and I also run the engine when using the pump.

I just run crocodile clips on mine so can use on all bikes and car if needed. On the gs connection is remote live (not the battery post) and any earth or battery negative.
