Odd as it may sound, having owned my 1100GS for 7 years I am considering a change to an F650 GS. Reasons include...I like singles (my other bike is a 1955 BSA B33), and I like the 650's fuel consumption! Bit unsure how suitable/comfortable the 650 would be for 300+ mile days though - I am 6' and average build, can anyone comment on how they find the 650 for long journeys including motorway work? Ta.

iv only got a funduro, but ask ugg, ilove it!i have the 1150 for touring, cause i can get more on it,
its the best single iv had so the new uns must be even better(sayin that 1150 to 1200 , progress?)
i done 2 to 300 mile days ,jus a bit slower ,thats all, but my fundy nails the 1150 for back roads and corners, 20 to the gallon more too

Go for the Dakar ajd and you'll be just fine :thumb

The 650 has a heart of gold and is one helluva tough cooky :)

Perfectly OK for long journey's .... like RTW :thumb

Agree as above :thumb

Sold my 1150gs to buy an 1150RT and the 650 Dak whooped the 1150 off road and on the twisties.

Of to the Alps this year, was gonna take the Dak, then the RT, now thinking I might just take the Dak for fun :blast

The only thing I do know for sure is the DR250 will not be going to the Alps :D:D:D

i had a 94 funduro for six years it carted my fat @rse (i am 6ft 4ins)+luggage,tent ect all round the country and never missed a beat,it kept up motorway speeds easily but it was hard work after 250 miles on a&b roads it was cracking.Traded up for a 11gs 18 months ago much easyer on distance work.
btw i have a set of hepco&becker pannier frames to fit the F650 £50.00 ono
anyone??
