Giving my RS the once over today after a ride and noticed the rear tyres almost down to the wear marker. The tyres only been on for 1500 miles!! I know I don't hang about but that's a hell of a wear rate. I usually get 4.5-5k out of a BT 45. This is the first time I've tried the Conti Go's. The front tyres showing signs of wear on the shoulders as well.

Anybody else running these tyres?

Metzler ME77 rear and Lazertec front.

No signs of significant wear so far

Its strange , but I have hade the same experience with set of 77 / Lasertecsecs on my R75/7, put them on 2500 km back and they are 85 % worn.

Ok , all dry hot summer riding, but as I use the 75/7 mainly for club runs with the Enfield / Vitagent boys and girls (of both sexes) they havent seen much hard riding.

The Avons on the GSs last around 7000 km of much harder use, so I will probably use them next time .

These days Continetial dont make many , if any, of their own tires , and they source them from a few different sources, so using tthem is a bit pot luck anyway - you dont know if you are getting a Mitas or A Metzler---.

Another one here with Metzler ME77 rear and Lazertec front, getting 3,000 and 6,000miles respectively, and always has been. I get 35-37 mpg, and I would really like to know what mpg others get with possibly a comparable style of riding.

It was mpg (and fuel price:rolleyes:) that inspired my recent post Bing Main Jet sizes so getting tyre life into the equation would be interesting.

No point messing around with road bike tyres. :rob Just fit Tourences and be done with it. You know they grip, you know they last, you know it makes sence. :hide

I'll let you know about mpg when I get back from my trip. I'll measure the tread and see how much it wears over 1400 miles if it get that far:eek:

I'm off to Skye for a few days over the easter holiday.

Before the midges come out to play:D

Last time I was in Syke I went over the bridge , and found good digs about 10 km out from the bridge on the outskirts of Broadford? -3 rd Cog motorcycles and Bikers B & B.

Nice people, good undercover parking, 24/7 call out if you park it, well equiped workshop when you get back.

Did a fuel check on mine today. Filled up as soon as it went on reserve this morning, put £20 in at £1.31 a litre and then went on reserve again 122 miles later. Works out to 36Mpg. Fairly spirited riding though so could coax a few more.
