Conti Road Attacks or Avon Azaro/Storm

I'm looking at replacing my Bridgestone 020/021 combo. The tyres are ok but i have to say they only feel really good when their really warm when your pushing them hard. Otherwise i feel the front feels a bit vague, and yes i do know the telelever can add to this, however i feel the tyre particularly the front is a bit pedestrian when it comes to feel, turn in and grip.
I was set on trying the Avons but after researching the Contis and some of your favourable comments on them i cant decide.....The Avons did win the test in Bike Magazine a while back albeit from been disqualified for developing a spilt......Has any one tried both? What do you think of them?

Bike Magazine this month had a tyre test that might help.
Personally I have only tried the Contis, and contrary to all perceived wisdom on the net I loathe and detest them. The only set of tyres I have owned that I have seriously considered throwing away since a set of oversized Kings fitted to a CX500 I was leant to go despatching in '93.

That's interesting, I really like my Conti's, I'm on my 3rd set now, all on different bikes. Just out of interest, what is it you didn't like about them? I started having doubts until I sacked the BMW recommended pressures in favour of the ones on the Continental website, now they're absolutely superb. Each to his own I suppose :thumb

Oh and I've not tried the others but I've heard good things about them too.

Can't comment on the Avons, but I binned a set of nearly new Tourances for Road Attacks, and all I can say is thay were as good a match for my 1150gs as the BT020's were for my VFR800 when they first came out. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

Mich Pilot Road2 are very good in all weathers and give good mileage. I'm just about to change mine for another set after getting just under 8k on a 06 K1200GT.
... and 90% of that is 2-up fully loaded with a lot of motorway/autoroute miles.

I'm no riding god and don't push tyres anywhere near the 'limit' so other things make a difference to me.

And Avon's Road Hazard Warranty tips the balance for me. If you get a puncture in the first 1mm or wear they'll replace the tyre free of charge. Which saved me a pile of beer tokens a year ago. Oh - and Avons are British made!
