Conti TKC 80 or Dunlop Trailmax Raid?

Same here. Planning a Dolomites trip (on the GS, would be a bit complex to fit knobbly tyres on my HP2 :D ) with a fair bit of offroading possibly around this summer.
I'd be interested to hear how the Dunlop Trailmax Raid compare to the TKC80s on asphalt riding as well.

An often overlooked tyre is the Pirelli MT21. I have been told it was the de facto touring off road tyre before the TKC80.

I like the TKC80 and have used them on trips such as the OPs, however, if you are encountering mud, the MT21 gives me much more confidence than the TKC.

Both handle well on the road, there's not that much between them on that. If I change my tyres for this year's trip, I'll be going MT21s.
I usually use them on the 690’s, very good but I don’t think they do a 17/21 fitment. I’d likely use them if they did.

Also, Im going to use tubeless rims, at least on the HP2, so I reckon TKC’s might be the answer. This is not a hardcore off road trip!

I haven’t used the trail max raids, but they look pretty similar to the TKC70 Rocks

They do a 140 and a 150 x 17. Obvs they do a 21 inch front.

Sorry, I think you're right. I must have gone down a website rabbit hole and come up with the wrong answer. :augie

How about changing to a slightly bigger wheel sir? We have those tyres in the range! :blast

They do the Scorpion Raid, or some such, in the right size but it’s less knobbly than the Conti

Which are the ones that Adam Rieman uses. They're Pirelli Scorpion Rally somethings. Not the STR version.

I'd get them if it made me ride like him.
