Can anyone help please. I've searched here and throughout the internet and can't find the information I need (it doesn't even tell you here - http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual/mc_contents.htm)

My MOT is due in a couple of days and I know that my dipped and main beam are too high.

Can anyone please tell me what the correct height/distance from object the lights should be set at, so I can adjust them before the test.

Cheers

I've got an R1150GS but if this is in the wrong section can someone put it in the right place. Thanks.

The old fashioned way...

wheel the bike so its front tyre is to a wall and put an + exactly opposite the center of the headlamp. Then pull your bike approx 7 feet straight back - put your lights on main-beam, the patten of the light should be about central to the + on the wall. Adjust it if its 'off'.
On the dip beam the pattern should change so the majority of light drops to the 6 to 9 o'clock position.

This is how I've always done it and never been failed at MOT time... nor had an 'advisory'

Hi, most testers will set the aim for you after a test if its out and possably prs it with no charge, the above advice is also good although with headlight aim it's either pass or fail, no advice note.

Having the 1150GS Don't you have a headlight adjuster next to the Speedometer on the instrument panel ?
