Can anyone tell me the approx cost of BMW extended warranty ?

i.e. for the 3rd year and beyond

... add a full service for around £300 (must be done as part of the warranty) and it doesn't look like it is worthwhile.

warranty

thought about this as well just going to wait until warranty is just about ran out the trade my dakar in for a new one :D

Be very careful

If you do decide to take out any form of extended waranty (in my opinion you'd be mad at this BMW price) check very carefully what IS covered. I took out a BMW extended warranty while it was still just about affordable (about £250ish)They didn't have any literature in the dealership at that time but I was told it was exactly the same as my new bike warranty except for corrosion & shocks after 30k miles. Unfortunately didn't check the document when it came but some time later decided to have a look - fek - just about everything was EXCLUDED  Covered engine & gearbox & that was about it !!

Frame - Nah
Wheels - nah
Drive shaft - nah
Most of electics - nah
Anything which could have been losely termed under wear n tear - i.e. riding the fekin' thing - covered? - Nah

Don't need to go on do I......... didn't need to use the "warranty" fortunately -hardly worth the paper it was written on :spitfire

Just got my Extended Warranty letter in the post.

£386 inc Roadside emergency service.

Doesn't cover :-

Fluids
Wiper blades :)
drive belts
brake pads
Wheel balance
lamps bulbs and fuses
engine tuning and set up
spark plugs
body panels.

Seems like they have quite a range in the scale of charges. PB

Yes it does seem a rip off, even if the reason for increasing the price from previous years is valid. I'd rather put the money in a saving account and keep my fingers crossed for two or three years. £1300 - £1950 would buy a fair bit of engine work.

Hmm. I was quoted £600 + last week. Strange.
