Apart from my wet-clutch DR-Z, I run the entire fleet on this Chevron oil - bought from Costco at £11.62 for 4 litres.

Trouble is, they've stopped selling it in 4 litre packs and now only stock 20 litre containers of the same stuff - a size which is difficult to handle.

I rang their Head Office and it doesn't look like they're getting any more of the 4 litre packs. There were just a couple of dozen left at Thurrock yesterday - no other branches have them.

Be quick or they'll be gone!

Bleedin' Hell, Greg.... Like you, I've been using this stuf in my GS & Celica for a couple of years. re they replacing it with another brand or just changing to stocking the 20l drums?

The message I got from Head Office is that they will continue to stock the oil, but only in 20 litre packs.

How much was the 20L drum ,i'm sure my TD5 ( Landy ) runs on 5 / 40 , might be worth buying a few :thumb

TIA , JB .
I think that it was just over £50. It's a good price, but unless you've got a trade oil dispenser, you'd have to transfer the oil into smaller vessels. You'd need arms like Popeye and steady nerves to fill a GS from a 20 litre pack (without spilling about 10 litres onto the garage floor!).

I was just in Costco Gateshead tonight and they are stocking the 4ltr packs again.

I use 5W40 full synthetic in my wifes R1100S, but here in France it only costs 16 euro for 5 liters, Worth remembering when you have a little panier space on the way back to the UK. I would not use the same in my diesel though as it is petrol specific, they do sell diesel oil of the same spec for the same price.
