Hiya

Out for a run this morning just north of usk doing 80mph and a bird comes from nowhere and smacks me right in the eye.

I was wearing my open face and a pair of the works issue bolle safety glasses, the bird hit me in the left eye and cheek, didnt make me wobble or anything,I just carryed on for about half a mile and pilled over felling sick, all my left cheek and top lip numb, neck hurting like whiplash, silght concussion my mrs the nurse reckons:comfort.

I got a black eye and a headache now, very lucky I reckon if i didnt have the glasses on or it hit me in the mouth It would have been nasty:eek:

Do you reckon it might have been a Swan, they're always looking to put one on a Bluebird:D

pheasents

I have had a couple of close run-ins with pheasents up here..

One close enough to flatten my windscreen on the gs when it struck, luckily have tobinators fitted to screen collapsed back, and what was left of bird went over my head. I just saw feathers..

Bird strikes can be nasty, one reason I won't use an open face, that and the thought of my chin scraping down the road un-nerves me, if i came off.

Did anyone see that police camera action one of the CBR600f rider who struck a pigeon? They were showing the investigation of the accident, trying to work out how it all happened. Only when they interviewed the rider after he recovered conciousness in hospital, they found out it was all down to a pigeon. One bike, a car and nearly a rider wipes out.

Thought this was a piss take first of all, rider hitting bird.

I hit a pigeon, or it hit me, on the Motorway, glancing blow just above the visor, I was doing 80 at the time. Neck was sore the next day, as you said, consider yourself lucky.
