I have just purchased and fitted a new crud catcher for my shiny new GS. It can be found here... http://www.moto-ap.co.uk/id3.html I got the first one in the set. It was delivered very quickly and fitted in 15 mins from start to finish.
The catcher itself is of excellent design and build quality, beautifully finished and detailed and fits perfectly.
I was so impressed I phoned "the Man" (Chris at ap-moto.co.uk) to compliment him on his work and I would not hesitate to recommend this product for other users. (No I'm not his dad) :)

Looks like a direct copy of the Cymarc crud catcher thingy that was designed by Mark Hooton. But I suppose that both parties could have come up with the same design without knowledge of the other.

I started with a fender extender- a rather fetching carbon version from Spain. Fitted just prior to a trip to rdga.
Missing by Dover! I blame the twat who fitted it! (Me!)
The crud catcher was subsequently fitted and I have no chips to the engine front.

Mind you it is a 2005-a year when they used decent paint! The number of later models seen for sale in main dealer that are covered in blistered paint is crazy

The paint fails under the screw heads long before stone chips get at it and the exhaust cross tube protects the bottom centre from stone chips. Take out every one and plaster the screw shanks with a good quality anti seize grease or even better some marine stuff like Duralac. Also treat the alternator cover bolts. On mine the corrosion began around the bottom belt cover bolt. It caused more damage under the cover than below. The cover edges also rubbed through the paint. I now have washers under the belt cover screws. Fiddly to fit but the paint is not getting rubbed.

The crud catchers are OK but they hide the failing paint which can be quite a mess by the time it is found.

I have the Spanish carbon fibre fender extender. I stuck it on with car windscreen sealant. Sadly I've lost his contact details.
