My bike (new Dec 2010 GSA 30th anniversary model, live in Hong Kong) wouldn't start the other day - battery good, plenty of fuel etc. used it a week before with no problem and it's been running fine in it's 1st 3 months of life.
Tried jump-starting it etc, but failed miserable to fire hence called BMW to pick it up and a day later they have just reported that the crankshaft sensor has failed. I'm gobsmacked that a 3 month old, 1,200 km on the clock go anywhere bike could have a part fail so quickly by sitting in my garage. It hasn't even been out in the rain never mind crossign the Gobi desert.
Anyone else have this issue? is it a design or manufacturing fault?
