crash bar protectors for GSA crash bars

Does anyone know of an ingenious (and cheap) way to protect those rather expensive Adventure crash bars?. I have used cut down car hose to wrap round at the outer most points (with tie ons), in case of a slow speed spill. Only problem is they dont look brilliant. Actually they look crap.

I know they are crash bars and are there to protect the bike but it would be nice to have something as disposable as mushrooms, that sports bike riders use.

Don't worry about a few scratches the technical terms "character"we've all got them :D
 
Well... I could invent some very nice crash bar protectors,
but what are you going to protect those with then?
