crash bars or head guards

Both. Crashbars prevent the head being ripped off, guards prevent it being holed.

When Voyager decided to test the crashbars on his airhead they just bent and the rocker cover still hit the deck. This was on a wet road and he didn't hit a kerb or anything similar. Once it was picked up I was able to just kick the bars back to where they should be.

From this experience I would guess that unless the crash bars are much tougher than those on an airhead any impact great enough to take off a pot would simply destroy the crashbars first! Get the head protectors:thumb2

Crash bars will save a bit of damage if your bike gets sided over in a car park but at anything above ten miles an hour they will bend into something else or just dig in and flip the bike.

Head Guards will give you a chance of getting home if you slide down the road on one side.

Pick holes in that if you like but thats the score ..... :cool:
