I had a low speed off road spill yesterday and as usual the Rocker cover protector and rear foot peg took the brunt.

A trip to the dealers saw me approx. £60 lighter and ready to sort the damage;
Cylinder protector £40
Pillion foot beg bracket £20

but what if I'd been on the new 1200??

Somehow - I doubt if £20 will repair this pillion footpeg if it gets broken off!!!

Poor Jibes JT!!

Well, thought you'd more about you than to join in the 1200 slagging bunch! Anyway how d'ya expect the poor old footpegs to stand up to YOUR weight off road - & why were you standing on the back ones? Needed more ground clearance??:D :D :D

So lets see, out of the Sheffield Gang of Three (sorry was that packet!!) how many 1150's came in broke?

One dropped by owner too small & weak to hold it up off road (definitely needs a lighter bike):P ;)

One with a failed £130 indicator switch - ouch

These big rugged bikes just cant cut it, or is it their riders:dabone

Seriously JT hope the ribs are ok.

Thanks Ade!!!
Surprisingly I seem to ache less today than I did yesterday.
Bike is almost back together but Lynn and myself have just spent a couple of hours back at Rainbow and I'm another £60 lighter 'cos she took a fancy to a new fleece.
Oh well if I earn she may as well spend it!
Do try and get next weekend, mate

So what about the third?

I can answer that because SLM's demonstrator had been down on its side. No rocker cover protector meant damaged rocker cover. Also noticable damage on rear sub frame platic shroud monstrosity.

Bar end weight and indicator OK though.

Hey Steve - wasn't suggesting a 100% failure, & following you in Germany when the back end stepped out with your lad on the back, for a vertically challenged one ;) you can't half save a slide :beerjug: Respect!

re sherpa's low speed get off

when are you goin to bring in another of lynn's rather nice chocolate cakes to avoid all the piss takin we've bin doin all week.gaunty's got an xr400 now so he can show the pack of 3 how to ride off road properly! mind you he hasn't got a sat/nav like you lot have. is he still allowed to come and play?:D :D :D
