Just recently my 1150 has started making what I can only describe as a creaking or cracking sound that seems to be coming from driveshaft/shock area. It only seems to happen once the bike has been ridden for a while and when the rear suspension is compressed (& on rebound). I think it does happen when being ridden though its difficult to discern with a remus pipe - its most noticeable when put on the side stand and the rear end compressed.
The bike is coming up to 16,000 and the rear shock is a Maxton unit which doesn't seems to be giving quite such a planted ride as before (this may be my imagination). I have a call into them on this but since you can feel the creak through the driveshaft housing I'm wondering is a symptom of driveshaft or bearing failure.
Any ideas?
