Cross Bar

I have seen a handlebar crossbar for sale and was wondering what benefits there would be apart from a new space to hang things on. Does anyone know if this will reduce the vibration in the bars? Any information welcomed before I add this to my Christmas present list.

Nope

I think you have got it about right. The touratech website pretty much says that the cross bar is to mount things on.

It also depends what bike you have as to whether or not it will fit.

This is fitted with the BMW crossbar. It is handy to mount a camera or the like on but I do think there is less of a tingle at the bar ends than without. Notes that come with it says it can't be used with a tank bag but as far as I can see a BM tank bar is perfectly OK. Even with a crash bar cover full lock either way is available without fouling the tank bag.
