I'm looking to buy a crud catcher for my GS....
But all the ones I see for sale seem short?
I've just spent Sunday morning cleaning tar/crap off of the front engine plate....and it looks like the catchers wouldn't have caught much of it as it was splashed up quite high?
(I have a fender extender)
What has everyone else got - does anyone make them from their garage?
Cheers

My bike came fitted with a machine art front fender extender. It's quite wide and sits close to the engine.
Sleeps to do a good job of keeping the worst off the engine front.

No room left for a crud catcher on the engine casing, I found out after ordering one.

I have a Cymarc one, But its still in my garage six months after I bought it, may fit it this weekend, but I'm sure I heard they can catch if you have an front mudguard extender fitted, which I do.

Not sure which verson you have Stu but mine came with a machineart fender extender and cymarc crud catcher. Not sure which type the cymarc is though. Its quite short wth only approx 10mm clearance between the two.
I dont expect them to keep all the crap off the engine Burbs but they will stop stones damaging the paint.

I'd be interested to know how this goes, as it sounds like the fender extender may hit it???

I had a MachineArt fender extender on my GSA, and it did a fantastic job.

As others have said, the Cymarc crud catcher won't fit with it on the GSA, as there isn't enough clearance, but I noticed that Wunderlich now do a crud catcher which appears to sit much closer to the engine.

Does anyone have one of those with the MAM extender on a GSA?

Crud Catcher & Fender extender

I've got both the Cymarc Crud catcher & the Pyramid Plastics Fender extender fitted together!
No problems with clearance although I was lazy fitting the original FE using sticky pads/evo-stik & it didnt last very long & fell off! (Or was it stolen???) so this one is fitted with the supplied plastic pop rivets. (Dont drill into your tyre when fitting)

Thank you!

pics of fender extender and cymarc crud, 2013 gs te lc

Pics showing clearance, hopefully. Its only a short arsed little crud catcher, not sure which one it is.
Plenty of overlap so no chance of stone damage I reckon.
