control on a bike.

Coming back up the M6/M74 I had the cruise switched on as there wasn't a lot of traffic. Seemed odd when the throttle opens and closes as the grip does the same ! took a while to get used to it, but it was good to rest the hand for a while, after 300 miles of motorways.

good idea on a bike ? I'm not too sure as it's quite a basic system, on or off and reset buttons.

It's very crude compared to a car, especially my new 320ED which also applies the brakes to slow you down when going downhill. However, I find it very useful on the open road to rest my throttle hand.

In contrast, we hired a car in Canada a few weeks ago to drive from Vancouver through the Rockies and down to Calgary for 3 weeks.
Unfortunately the car was a Chrysler 200, which had every option on it including cruise which was worse than the RT's.
It didn't slow you down till at least 10mph over the set speed and it didn't pick up untill it almost stalled when going up hill. The car was CRAP and now we know why Canadians don't drive American cars.

Absolutely love it. The fact that the new KTM 1190 doesn't have Cruise Control is a deal breaker for me.

600 miles on the RT yesterday.... used the cruise control loads!

You get used to the throttle moving. I can get better mpg by not using the cruise control but wouldn't want a long distance bike without it now.

Cruise Control on an RT. Brilliant, wouldn't be without it. Great for resting the right hand on long motorway / autoroute sections. Works well for me and just as good as the system in our Skoda Yeti.

Never had a bike with cruise before.......
