I was getting a bit fed up with the noise coming off my Tour X and decided to try to sort it out. I used EP-200 Epoxy putty, rolled it into a lolly pop shaped strip and stuck it along the leading edge of the peak. I then taped over it for a bit of back-up security. This eliminated a good bit of wobble/vibration from the peak. The result, better, but not quite there yet.
I happened to have an R1200S as a loaner while the GS was getting serviced today and was quite happy to find that there was no problems at all from the peak whilst riding that machine. SO, I decided that the turbulance coming off the GS screen has a major part to play in this drama. On picking up the big yellow beastie, I dropped the screen down to it's lowest setting. VOILA, no vibes at all and as quiet as my other full face Arai. I then started to raise the screen up a notch at a time to get the best balance between wind protection and horrible buffeting (this'll depend on your height, I guess).
So I'm now more than happy with my Tour X and wish I'd had done this much earlier after buying it.
