I seem to recall reading an article last year, perhaps in TWO, about a new range of knee and elbow protectors using a new energy absorbing technology. The principle is similar to custard powder in a tick paste, low speed movements are relatively easy, but as soon as the speed of flexing of the material increases it becomes a solid. I believe the idea is that it forms a flexible protector allowing full knee and elbow movement under normal conditions, but in the event of an accident, will provide adequate protection.

The HG has Hiprotect pads fitted, which are supple, but the pop studs holding them in position usually pop off, allowing them to roll up in the bottom of the knee pocket. The BM pads are a bit bulky, so looking for something similar to the Hiprotect. Anyone else heard of the protectors I described above ? Know here to get them ?
