Custom pattern 98 LED rear light array

Testing..

Tobers.. sounds like a good idea.. i would hate to see what the liabilities would be if someone crashed because of it....3rd party liability and all.

I like the look of it alot, but there is no way I will be coughing up £140 for it ( and thats the plain red, non fancy version).

And a quick question... is it water proof with out the clear lense?

I really hope they do a cut down eg 40 LED unit or something like that in the future..

Hanging onto my cash for the repairs to the bike and for shiny new ali panniers at the moment..

Testing was completed successfully last night on an ABS-equipped R1150GS Adventure and my R1200GS.

I can confirm that there is no impact on ABS on either bike, and the bulb failure warning light on each bike worked properly.

By the way, the LEDs are really bright, which is whey they are more costly than the cheaper kit out there - the LED array is v.impressive.

I'd be dead interested in a solution like this as I'm of the opinion that the standard single-bulbed unit is somewhat, er, lacking. Price is still a tad on the high side, mind...

My ZX-12R had a 50-LED conversion with clear lens that looked the dog's danglies and many ppl commented on how clear and bright it was. Could do with summat similar.

IIRC, that solution was about £100 all in...

I'm sorry to say that Richard who was about to start making these has decided not to proceed. He was muttering something about the cynical response of internet forum activists affecting his potential sales :D

In reality, Richard is re-evaluating his work-life balance at the moment and seems to be focusing mainly on the "life" bit.

If anyone wants to take this further or extract Richard's knowledge from him, then let him know on www.motobitz.net.

Cheers

LED LIGHT PANELS

Saw Tobers thread and decided to mention our similar product which will be available from the first week of September.
These LED Light Panels comprise 24 red LED's on a circuit board and 4 white LED facing down to illuminate the number plate.
There are two version, one for bikes with IBS and one for bikes without.
In addition there are versions with amber LED's which include a resistor on the back of the circuit board to ensure correct flash rate. Fitment is very quick and reversible.

More details at www.nippynormans.com

under light panels.

I will try to attach some images....

IBS

= Integral Brake System. Not all bikes with ABS have IBS.
If there is a light on the dash to show if the rear bulb has blown then you have got IBS
