R1150gsa 2003 - had new injectors , new coil sticks and tb and valve gaps done. Also using premium unleaded.

But it still cuts out occasionally and randomly when turning left at low speeds, it’s as though it stalls - don’t show any other symptoms at any other revs or manoeuvring.

Any suggestion? I’ve been trying to keep a few revs on while turning but it’s becoming disconcerting.

Anything to suggest?

Thanks

i once had this an 1150 rockster,it was a broken wire by the headstock, just on the rhs as it goes under the petrol tank

Similar on the 1150 I had it was the headstock wiring . You can buy the short wiring loom to fix it . If you do don’t zip tie it up too tight or it will happen again.

I did think that at first but I can ‘catch’ it with the clutch and am unable to replicate when turning bars stationary , will kee an eye on it

Sounds more like an iffy clutch micro switch if you're able to 'catch' it? Or a rubbish side stand spring allowing your side stand to activate the switch down there - but I doubt that.

Have a closer look at the connections and micro switch at the clutch lever

i've had this .... break and make, any electrical connector you can get to . INCLUDING h.e.s. , i assume you have snipped the zip-tie that holds wire from ign switch ...

Same for me, was a corroded wire at the headstock going into the ignition. Put the bike idling on centre stand and try jiggling the wires around while turning the bars in both directions to see if you can replicate/isolate the issue

Same here on ktm 990 aventure

Where could I get the short wiring loom? Is it a bm only part or is it something someone else made?

Cutting out

I got mine from Motorworks - IIRC it is the bottom unit of the ignition switch (the key bit sits on top).
They had one secondhand but it was faulty. Replaced straight away - went for a new one in the end.
