Just fitted a Pure Highway dab radio. I fitted it under the seat of my 1150 because its not waterproof and ran a switch up to the front of the bike so I can turn it off when Im not listening.

It all works fine except I get a whistle noise when I turn it off? Is there a supression gismo I can get from somewhere?

I thought the pure DAB needed a 'car' radio to run off. I would really like to listen to DAB on the bike but most reports I've read with peeps using portable DAB have been hit and miss due to antenna problems.

What setup are you using and how reliable is the signal?

Hi,

The Highway is run through my Starcom. I have a splitter wire so I can also have my ipod working too.

The Highway doesnt need a car radio to work.

Im wired to the bikes battery. The Highway needs to be plugged into a cig lighter socket. Got mine from the scrappy. I have a switch up on the bars for on/off. I can mount it on the bars somehow I guess but its not waterproof so I took out the tool holder box and stored the radio/ Starcom/cig lighter socket in there instead. (Im working on where to store the tools, think Ive a plan for under the rear mudguard, bove the tyre...).

Im in Aberdeen and the signal is great. If I go west from here, I do lose it though. South is ok and England has good coverage. When I lose the signal, it just goes off. It doesnt crackle or his.

Just got this very low whistle when I turn it off at the switch. I earthed it onto the frame lat night but today I earthed it to the battery and it seems a bit better.

If anyone is thinking of getting one, I paid £60 on Amazon, including p+p
