Hi All
Hope I’m in the right place.
I’m trying to piggyback/daisychain a pair of cansmarts,I bought some Denali D7 pros to replace the d3s (going cheap) ,I already installed a cansmart and was running 2 d3 lights, air bomb and rear light.I need extra circuits to run the d7pros as well.
My bike is a 2024 1250 GSA and only has an RDC plug under the seat, my issue is all the YouTube sites, like a bike thing ,plug into an actual unit and have a straight forward daisy chain process,I purchased a Denali universal splitter but that doesn’t seem to plug into anything but the rear light cable.
I have plugged the first cansmart into the RDC plug and thought I could then plug the spare plug into the new cansmart, but I just get a red light on the second cansmart, they are both wired to the battery.
Left hand photos shows original cansmart right shows new setup,I know ones a cansmart and ones an ezcan but the are the same thing both made by Hex,the black boxes are an alarm and a tracker not an RDC unit.
I’m going to use 3 circuits on each cansmart leaving a spare on each for heated gear plugs.
There, think I’ve explained it,I’ll be really grateful for any advice.
Thanks paddy.

Check out a bikething, he's shows how it's done
Hi,
Thanks for reply but he plugs into the rdc unit,it seems BMW have either got rid or relocated it,as a result I have to plug into the RDC spur which leaves a redundant plug, this is my issue, I can’t find any videos ( there is a guy with an Africa Twin installing a cansmart on a bike without An RDC,but it looks like the Honda variation has a spur for a splitter cable) of a 2024 setup.
Cheers paddy

If it helps I've fitted a single Hexezecan to my 1250RS, which doesn't have TPMS and used the plug the TPMS would have used if the bike had it. It was a simple job and works exactly the same is it did when it was on my 1250 GS TE that had The TPMS unit.

On my 2024 1250 GSA I have two cansmart units connected in series to the "floating" RDC connector and all works ok.
i just looked on the Hex website and found the following info which may help you.hex.jpg

As I understand it... if you don't have the RDC module... there should be a cable with a plug on the end of it, clipped into a simple 'holder'. This is what you plug into the EZCan... the other Can plug on the EXCan goes into the holder that you took the plug out of. So you should end up with both Can plugs on the EZCan connected, and the 'holder' should also have something in it.
