dakar aluminium chain guard

hi guys can you help? does any know where to get an aluminium chain guard for a Dakar??
 
cheers Tim i did check the uk web site but could'nt find them, as i am off to africa in ten days do you think i can chance getting the guard from germany,, ?
 
You'll be lucky. Touratech are very sniffy about you using anyone but your local distributor.

Sorry for the bump, the one that ginger dj posted is the one i had, until it did this

The sharp corners give the vibration somewhere to start stress fractures, gone back to a cut down oem guard now :thumb2
 
Timolgra,

I got one of those chain guides and the outer side of the chain skimmed the edge of the slot in the plastic guide, even checked the wheel alignment, but still did it, only by about 1 or 2 mmm, did or does yours do this?
 
santrix, i have one of the chain gurads ( did you spot the ktm logo yet :augie) I've never really noticed any problems with the guide, i think the chain is closer to one side than the other. Not caused any problems in nearly 10000 miles :clap
 
mine touches...ever so slightly annoying. you reckon its safer to take it off? it only touches where it enters, its sorted itself out by the time it gets to the sprocket..... yeah spotted the ktm logo straight away..
