Damn Norton Antivirus

How annoyingly useless is this programme? I've run a virus check and good old Norton tells me that I have a backdoor trojan virus (a little pop up window tells me), i click on ok to delete it, Norton then tells me that it cant delete it! Well thanks a feckin lot! Adaware finds lots of stuff, deletes it but then it comes back next time the comp is turned on.

I have run the update loads since it first found it but it still keeps telling me that it cant delete it.

WHAT DO I DOOOOOOO?????????

Some of these things are messy and you really don't want a dumb-ass antivirus program trying to rip the bits out.

If you take a look at http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/ and dig down for the particular virus it is reporting you might find that there is some software or instructions for removing the problem.

If that doesn't work try http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?cid=10371, particularly http://us.mcafee.com/root/faqs.asp?search=remove virus

Or..... try putting the virus name up on a Google search you might find a removal tool, look at the Microsoft website also, they may have a patch to stop you getting re-infected.
