hi

i'm getting myself a Darien jacket, and was wondering...................

is it worth the extra money for the heated liners? i do a fair bit of riding in the cold, but with phase change thermals and a fleece i've always managed.

are the plug-in liners actually any good? are they worth the extra cash?

thanks in advance

Jim

ps i'm sure i read somewhere that the canbus wiring can present problems - anyone heard/experienced this?

heat

I have a Roadcrafter (Aerostich) suit but use a Gerbing heated jacket which has been great.

I would

its much easier to use rather than putting on additional layers.

Heated Darien liner 100% yes. Makes a huge difference and very convenient as it zips into the Darien. Your choice whether it is switched on of course, but I'll bet you'll be glad you got it.

Just be careful sending it through the X ray machine at Vancouver airport! There are a lot of wires and the police get very nervous --- DAMHIK :augie

It WILL NOT work with the can bus on a 1200 - a PITA at 2'c in Lesotho when I was on a 1200GSA. You'll need to get a friendly mechanic to wire a socket direct to the battery. One of many reasons I sold my 1200GS

cheers

Why a Darian Jacket

I have used Darian Jackets fo rover 250,000 miles and have found many new jackets on the market place which are much better and water proof.:thumb2 I'd go with the heated jacket :)- cuts down on the number of layers under the jacket and packing.

Driving a car with your Darien on is the warmest solution :thumb

I've just got one... not tested in really cold weather yet, but first impressions are ... it's great! Toasty warm without lots of bulk, and most importantly you can adapt to conditions by turning it on & off!

You can't use cabnus accessory socket (current limited), but get the direct battery connection leads & it's fine. :thumb
