Starting with an article in a German motorcycle magazine (not a word of which I speak) and a very circuitous route from a link I gleaned from within its pages, I came to a great touring book:
Nicely published by Bruckman (who publish lots of other motorcycle books) and available via Amazon, it has 100 excellent route suggestions, covering the whole of Austria and a bit beyond. The routes are all very clearly mapped, with enough pictures to let you know what to expect on a good day. In a way I guess it's very similar to viaMichelin's 100 routes in France, another good buy to add to any library.
Anyone who is even half interested in Austria and the Alps - and I know there are more than a few of you - might do worse than picking up a copy.
ISBN 978-3-7654-5640-4
Editor Heinz E Studt
Publisher Bruckman
My copy turned up, along with a bunch of other books in under a week, all ordered via the German Amazon site. Use a bit of intuition as to what boxes you are filling in; it's really no different to the UK site.
