Hi All,

Does anybody have knowledge of the Datatool System 3 wiring? My R1150GS has had the engine immobilisation and starter immobilisation bypassed as the fitted alarm is faulty. I have bought a second hand System 3 of eBay, but of course all of the identification coloured tags have been removed.

I have buzzed out the wiring on the Datatool System3 alarm, and there are 14Cat1 black wires. I need to know if pins 1 & 2 are the WHITE tagged wires for Engine Immobilisation, or if 5 & 6 are?

The installation documentation that I have found on the net has the following warning which I can’t ignore!

“IMPORTANT: Do not use white tagged wires for the starter immobilisation. Do not use yellow tagged wires for Engine Immobilisation. Failure to comply with this installation will invalidate all warranties and could have severe safety implications.”

If anybody can help me out I would be very grateful :thumb

Here's one I prepared earlier................

Set the alarm module so that the two white terminal strips are at 12 oclock.

Using IDs 1-6 and 7-14 (left to right),

the "White tagged" wires are connected to: 1 & 2

The "Yellow tagged" wires are connected to: 5 & 6

PM me if you need to know any of the other IDs

pin id's for datasystem 3

this is an old post, but who knows.

i have a datatool s3 alarm, but with no labels (second hand one). the only one i know for sure is the 12v which has a big fuse in it. i already tagged the wires according to their pin (inside the alarm).

there are 2 white connectors internally, the first one is 8 pins, the second one is 6 pins.
does anyone has the pinout for these 14 pins. i have an installation manual, but that presumes that all the wires are colorcoded. so that is no help.

any help is appreciated.

the protective trigger switch wires are soldered to each other, can someone shed some light on what the purpose of this is. should t have a 'switch' on it or...?

Hi,

If it's any help, I've got a similar set up and have been advised that because the alarm unit is installed under the tank, there is no need for the protective trigger switch as this is really intended to protect the alarm unit should it be under a seat/ behind a panel that could be easily accessed or tampered with.
