My Daytonas were well worn, the boots themselves are still waterproof but the soles were worn smooth - been looking around at options and follow the 2010 thread that ended up costing someone £120 for new soles so after a bit of research I found Durbans - absolutely nothing to do with me but as one happy customer I would recommend them if your boots need some TLC. They had to have the boots for about 8 days but the end result is amazing - choice of Vibram soles, restitching and repair all for £35 - well worth it IMHO.

That is brilliant.

My Daytonas have done me proud for around 70,000 miles, and I am dreading the day the soles go.

Now I have hope. :D

I had mine done by a Daytona 'agent' £80 ish, but i do like the thought of the chunkier sole:thumb2

Attachment of soles

Brilliant!

Do you have any more photo's of the stitching / join to the upper?

They are apparently double primed and then heat glued - the stitching was to the zips and the Velcro flap, all looks tidy. They were telling me today they had a MOD contract but its a father and son operation and they could not cope with the 50 pairs they got in at a time for resoling - they still do private military and police work but not on contract. They are thinking about focusing on motorcycle boots again especially as their is talk of a big track development taking place in Ebbw Vale...

Just got my Daytona Spirit XCR's back from Durban's. New Vibram sole and velcro £63 including £8 for postage. The boots had started to leak slightly after over 4 years of daily use and the sole was worn paper thin, but they now look as good as new and will serve for many more years (though only for dry days now!)

If it's any help I got mine sent back to Germany for new soles, Goretex relining (taking both boots apart to do it) and general tidy up. It took about 6 weeks, cost about £140 and they came back looking like new.

I appreciate that it's a fair chunk of change but given the cost of a new pair and the resuts, I was pleased with the results.
