Day running lights

I've fitted the Bikevis lights to my R1250GS but decided not to wire direct as I wanted to avoid any CanBUS issues - plus I wanted to wire in a second set of spot lights on a separate switch and my Innovv K5 camera. So what I fitted was a Fuseblock from Marks Motorcycle Parts https://www.marksmotorcycleparts.co.uk/product-page/5-way-switched-fused-power-outlet-1, for which I took the switched live off the appropriate wire by the OEM fuse box (Under the rider seat at the base of the tank, you will find two fuses in what looks like a blanking plug attached to a bracket. These are both ignition controlled. I spliced into the 7.5 amp one).

Having wired this in gives you 4 self healing 5 amp fuse and 1 self healing 1 amp fuse.

I then wired in my Bikevis mini light pod (https://www.bikevis.com/product/bikevis-mini-pod-motorcycle-running-lights/) complete with modulator under the headlight (in the "hole" between the headlight and the beak.

Taking power off from this point using the fuseblock does mean that the fuseblock will continue to be active for about 20 seconds after you switch the bike off (it's just a "feature" of the pick -up point (and where I wired it is where the dealer told me to pick up the power to avoid CanBUS issues) as once you switch off the bike normally, it "holds" power for about that length of time whilst it goes through its standard shut-down routine

(Just fyi, for the Mini Light pod, I used a strong double sided tape to hold it in place)

Your best bet is to invest in a Hex ezCAN https://www.hexinnovate.com/hex-ezcan-for-bmw/

Zero canbus worries and gives you 4 fully configurable high-powered outlets. It will let you adjust the brightness of your DRL's via the wonder-wheel and will turn off the applicable sides light when you indicate so you indicators visibility is not obscured. Also great if you want to add a nice loud air horn!

Thanks guys, that gives me all the information I need to sort out lights.
Many thanks.
Cheers, Pete
