Daytime running light

I've seen videos where the LED running light on the GS/A appears to flash. At standstill, mine is steady, do they begin to flash at speed or is this feature in the settings?
 
They don't flash at all. It's a result of the video frame rate.
 
Thanks, looks good flashing :cool:. Still can't understand why BMW think that the daytime running light is more effective at being seen compared to the dipped beam.
 
They do flash but faster than your eye can see, what you see is called aliasing, just like the wagon wheels turning backwards in the old Western :) - see Wiki if you want a full explanation :)
 
Does the oncoming traffic see the headlamp as steady or moving?

I have a set of cheap Chinese LED spot lamps which I fitted to my bike. Testing them in the garage I noticed they interfere with any radios nearby, then my dipped beam bulb blew. Could be a coincidence but I have removed them fully just in case they caused any other problem, I had them plugged into the accessory socket.
