hiya all, I don't come into this section much if im honest:augie, but possibly that may change:thumby:, im looking at choppin in me 1200 gsa(twin cam) for a 1200 rt se(twin cam), now as I realise most of me "extras" on me gsa will be useless on the rt, but I was wondering whether me de-cat headers would fit???, ive got keihan headers, now I know the make is irrelevant, but like I say are they interchangeable with the rt, or are they completely difrent:blast, all help appreciated:thumby:

cheers, Andy

I think the headers on the 1200 range are the same, its the angle of the joining pipe on the silencer that are different

Got some at work, will have a look Monday

Nice one mate, im hopin they fit, they make such a difrence, plus one less thing to buy!

Two-up there's f-all difference in handling between a GS and RT, although the RT does have better suspension for fast road use.

One-up the RT is very tyre sensitive. The stock BT021's were slow to turn into a corner, the BT023's turned in very quickly and neutrally and now I'm on Avon Storm 3D's which also turn in a little slowly solo.

I went the other way from RT to GSA. Absolutely loved both my RT's & they can be ridden hard on the right tyres. The wrong ones make the bike feel like it's tipping in but the right ones will allow you to hustle the bike along as quickly as you like.
You're not going to be disappointed.

Interesting comment about the heated grips, I can't believe how poor the GSA heated grips are in comparison to the RT grips but thought I'd just fallen unlucky with my new grips.

I'd put it a little more strongly than that...the stock BT021s are SHIT!! So much so that when I swopped them for Michelin PR3s I thought I'd got a completely new bike and all thoughts of returning to a GS faded in an instant.

Nothing against GSs BTW - it's just I was getting so fed up of the poor handling of the RT before the change of rubber that I had considered going back to a GS - even had a go on the LC - how the hell people live with that stupid gear lever/side-stand positioning is beyond me! :augie

GS handle bars aluminium  RT handle bars aluminium with steel inserts. its the steel that makes the difference :thumby:
