Decision Time -what bike to keep her happy while touring

I doubt the MRA screen is the solution, I didn't get on with mine and offered less protection than the GSA screen I have fitted now.

I got alot of buffeting with my Nolan helmet, so I fitted a Touratech extender thingy. With this it was spot on. Recently bought a BMW enduro helmet and it became a nightmare. Got rid of the extender and it's brilliant again ???

It will therefore change depending on your height, helmet, width, speed etc etc etc.

The GS is a brilliant tourer IMO. Try a 1200GSA and they are awesome as regards the screen. My brother has one and it's as calm behind the fairing as an RT.

Persevere with it though because there is a solution out there.

Had the GSA since 1st
As a tourer,it's a pile of shit!
Just about to order a K1200LTSE. Or maybe another Gold Wing(my seventh!)

hi twistgrip, hmmm... i know a guy that does high mileage on his gsa, and he loves it. uk to poland or similar parts of the world... so cant be shit, just shit for you. no problem.

ref the LT. i just got me the k1200lt-lux. lovely! handles so well for such a "feature full" bike :) even has double overhead cam ashtrays (so the salesman tells me but i've yet to find them).

i've only taken it to la belle france so far but due to the wafting acceleration, the smooth engine, and all the comfort bells and whistles, i rate it highly - until i drop it, and then i'll swear at it and squeal like a stuck pig no doubt.

i'm even thinking of selling my r1200gs to fund the
purchase of more petrol and servicing of the LT so i can go more places on it without bankrupting myself :blast

cheers al,
p.s. all the twistgrip throttles of the lt-s are stiff. i've never worked out why bmw never designed out that 'feature', but i've learned to use the cruise control a lot, which takes away so much of the hassle of piloting it hands-on
