Definitive Check List (France)

And if you are behind the times like me you need to know that the E111 is no good any more, you now need the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) :blast

And the EHIC is still refered to as the E111 by many people, but those who are less pedantic know what is meant. But there is no legal requirement to have one.

The less pedantic may well know what is meant. They might however be unaware of the fact that they are not the same thing, the E111 having been replaced by the EHIC since 2006. According to:

http://www.ehic.org/?gclid=CMf_oI6Pi5wCFd4B4wodnSwOZg:

The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is the replacement for the E111 for persons resident within the UK. As of 1 January 2006, E111s are not valid.

Sorry to be pedantic, of course. :augie
