The gearboxless GS has just been traded in for a nice 2nd hand RT

Will I still be welcome at events (should I actually make any!)?

What happened to your GS???

I changed gear at around 50MPH and the backwheel locked as a bearing disintegrated! There's a thread on the 1200 area "Impatiently waiting"

Balderstone BMW have been superb, including telling me they were going to struggle to get the bike back to me, knowing I was intending to trade it in, they offerred to take it in sans gearbox. The deal I got was reasonable and given a new gearbox is eye wateringly expensive, I'm not too much out of pocket! If I'd got it fixed and traded it in elsewhere (which was my intention) I'd have been a LOT more out of pocket than I am!

I take back all the moaning about dealer prices, they've more than redeemed themselves in the way they've dealt with this!
