Anyone out there had a close look at the TT Desierto screen for the 1100 ?
From what I have heard about the fairing It is supposed to be poorly aligned.

If anyone has had a close look would you please be able to clerify this?

Cheers

Henry Mawson has got one on his 1100.
I was going to say PM him and ask ,but you`re not a Site Sponsor,so can`t :P

Thanks guys
That dont look too bad at all, the reason for asking this question was due to the Danish Gaston replica, I belive It is feratured somewhere on this forum.
According to the owner the fairing was of very poor quality and fit, with the screen being off centre.

Regards
Knut

I have now ordered the fairing, delivery time over a month from Germany... :spitfire

If anyone is interested I will keep you posted on the fairing, fitment, buffeting etc.

I bought my 1100GS with one already fitted.

Lets clear up a couple of points...

1. The fairing and screens are not off set, the clocks make them look that way... they have a slight offset themselves.

2. They are KTM items.

3. the light kit supplied with them is the mutts nutts.

4. As a 6 foot rider I get no helmet buffet even in head winds. The wind flows around the screen and as a fairly broard across the shoulders chap I only get wind flow on the ends of my shoulders and my arms.

5. They can get very noisy in side winds with vacum "pops" being the main irritant, but this is easily fixed with ear plugs on long rides.

I like mine and would have considered looking for a second hand one as I do not think they really justify the price. But as my GS was on the cheap side anyhow... :)

Oh ... and ....

Fixing screws need to be replaced with alloy or stainless items for the screen as they rust like feck!

Well....

Currently on a ropey slow dial up at hiome , and can't do it from work... and also look at the bike above and squint a bit and imagine is as being black... job done :)

THE coolest looking GS1100 aftermarket bling. I like mine that much i had it done in carbon fibre.
HENRY
And it is off something like a '98 KTM 640 Adventure. Same lights, screen, with the fairing cut down.

The vacum pop thing ... have managed to prove that it was the Givi shopping bag that the thing came with. Did a long ride recently without the top box ... no pops ... put it back on .. same head wind conditions ... loud vacum pops ...hmmmm.

Think I will stick with the Ortlieb Rack Pack :)

Still waiting for the package from TT, left Gerryland last monday
A long travel past the arctic circle, but I guess norwegian customs :dabone are slower then TT

Hello

Got the parts yesterday, apparently my local postoffice forgot to tell me it was there, a "mere" 10 day delay due to someone leaving the slip that they were supposed to leave in my mailbox on the actual package. :spitfire

So far everything looks good. Included int the package were lowered adjustable footrests, a magura x-line handlebar for heated grips, brackets to fit acerbis handguards to the x-line, and the desierto I.

I can see that TT has fixed some of the previous problems with the desierto. For instance the brackets that fix the lower part of faiirng to the base of the beak has been altered.
There is also another pair of rebber bushes to go between the new subframe and the actual fairing. I dont know if anyone read the Dessie project from a dutch guy living in Denmark, but apparently he had a problem with the subframe not fitting properly to the instruments. I do not belive that his Desierto included these bushes.
I did a dry-fit today, and It looks good so far, It is definately taller and slimmer than the OEM screen, not as dark. The instruments are brought a rough 3 inches higher up and slightly more vertical. Included in the kit is a new speedo cable as the one would be a bit on the short side.
Pictures to follow if anyone interested, I just have to become a sponsor first.

The only major problem so far is the screw that fixes the left heated grip to the handlebar, it just rotates and I cant seem to get it out, looks like chainsaw massacre :D will be needed to separate the outer part of the grip from the stock bars.

By the way the link to the dessie bike would be :

If you tak a closer look at his pictures, you can see the poorly aligned subframe/fairing and the brackets to go beneath the beak, attaching the bottom part of the fairing. these brackets are now flat, which looks alot better then some twisted pieces of alloy
