Who's up for a ride on Sat 14th June. I can sort an interesting ride round the Lizard peninsula, The most southerly point of the country. pretty much all tarmac but some mud, cowsh.. and grass in the middle of the road, stunning views, good food stops and buns...and Roskillies ice cream.
Any takers. ?

Hi Pastyman
I can't make it as I'm back in Surrey now, but thought I'd say it was nice to meet you on Tuesday and shall certainly give you a shout if ever I'm down west on the bike.
Shame about your buddy with the unfortunate wide panniers incident !!
Cheers
Mike

.
Shame really, he's got a very nice V-stom and has just fitted panniers and a top box for a trip to the Alps, next year. Was so busy saying goodbye that as he drove off his nearside pannier caught the back of a Ducatti and flipped it over. The bike itself was actually saved by the lads helmet which was hanging on the side but my mate will have to sort out the damage to the helmet .. Sad but easily done and Im sure he wont be the last to forget how wide our bikes are.:nenau

Been out to do a little recce, heres a little taster. There is one especially for Jaq ,if she can make it. I may be able to fit in a bit of an unmade lane too if anyone wants it. Quite easy and no deep mud or the like. ( unless it rains before we go)

That looks good Pastyman. If you had posted a better picture of menu we could have ordered some buns before Jaq gets her mits on them all:rolleyes:
I have taken the night shift before off so should be there.
Is the westbound convoy passing though Camelford? If so I'll tag on the back:bounce1

Need to put some miles in as I'm running my Bumblebee in .I'm afraid I won't be tear assing along so if you don't mind a slowy in tow can I join you guys ?

PS. where exactly are you meeting up and what sort of time .:beerjug::moped:

Well Guys, looks like we got us a bit of a convoy.
Of course everyone is welcome.. Havent heard much from the devon lot yet (except for Devon himself) so dont know whether Smiler, HappyP.. or Jaq will be along.
I would suggest that we meet at Smokey Joes Cafe just south of Chiverton roundabout at about 10 30 am . We can have a cuppa and leave about 11.
The roads are not particularly fast for the first part and definately slow for the second so have no fears about keeping up. I will try my best to keep up the standard as set by previous ride leaders and no one should get lost.
As I have said before, I have not found any good off road sections and the one I did find can be easily done on the likes of Tourances.

I will be away now until wed 11th ( taking Rosie and the Hymer up to Devon for a few days away from it all) I will catch up with any questions then.
I will post a map of the location of Smokey Joes Cafe in the next post. :aidan

Regarding the location of Smokey Joes.. Bug......D if I can get the google map onto the computer. and as I am not a GPS man I cant give a waypoint location. I am sure some of the other locals can help here.. As I have said I am going away in a few mins so will try again on Wed if no one else has put in a location. Sorry about that..:blast

Regarding meeting...

If everyone troops down the A30.... you will pass a big Nissan dealer on the right hand side....

Then a cross roads in a dip....

Come up over the hill and just past the left hand turn (signposted truro and shortlanesend) there is a LARGE layby

I will meet you all there for 10:15am

If you get to the large roundabout (chiverton) you have gone too far... But DONT PANIC...

Take the 3rd exit.... at the next roundabout, take the left and stop by the services, I will have a glance in there on the way through
